Football teams add Pilates, non-traditional training methods
Ted Karras was skeptical. Pilates? The thought had never occurred to the 6-3, 290-pound offensive lineman. But Karras and the rest of his Cathedral High School teammates, who play for a sectional title tonight, have opened their minds — and muscles — to Pilates, a training technique that focuses on core strength, flexibility and balance, but is not often associated with football.
